Background Miroku's family is cursed with an air void. Miroku's grandfather fought Naraku and lost due to his weakness for women. Naraku then cursed Miroku's grandfather with the air void and explained that all of his decendants will have it for as long as Naraku lives. Miroku is trying to collect Shikon shards in order to defeat Naraku to prevent being killed by the air void in his hand.
Personality
Miroku is a lovable pervert. He asks every woman he meets to bear his child. He is always able to smooth-talk his way into a free meal or a place to stay. He comes to love Sango, but has yet to admit it to her. Mirouko occasionally travels with a shape changing racoon named Hatchi.
He is also called Houshi, which means "priest". He claims to follow Budda and he is able to use faith-type magic such as rosaries and seals.
First Appearance
Episode 16 - Miroku stole the Shikon shards from Kagome, resulting of course in a fight with Inuyasha. He was able to block the Tessaigaiga's force with his rosaries, which no normal human could do. However, he only had the upper hand for a few minutes thanks to Kagome, who believed he wasn't such a bad guy after all. He ends up traveling with Inuyasha and Kagome since they all have the common interests of collecting Shikon shards and killing Naraku.
